Open Farm Day

Open Farm Day is a province wide event held on the third Sunday in September, falling on September 20th, 2020. Open Farm Day creates the opportunity for participating Nova Scotia farmers to open their doors to members of their community. We’re giving you a backstage pass to meet your farmer, and really see where your food comes from. We also want you to have a first hand glance at our farmers’ hard work and dedication to top quality products and services.

Please take advantage of this great opportunity and visit as many of these farms as possible. Share stories, ask questions, get involved and most importantly have fun!

See what farms are participating in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland!

Meet Your Farmer

High bush blueberries are ready for the help of pollinators to make for an excellent crop later in the summer! Thanks to Blueberry Acres U-Pick for the progress of the crop this year!Watching the blueberries progress during the Spring is one of our favourite sights on the farm. The buds in April were slow to open with the cool temperatures and then in May we started to see activity pick up. June kicked into high gear with bloom on the early varieties. It's time for the bees on the farm to get busy pollinating. Did you know each blossom will develop into a berry?
