Don't these look delicious? Holiday baking is made even sweeter when you feature Nova Scotia ingredients! Nova Scotia apples, maple syrup, flour, eggs, milk/cream and butter can be used in this recipe.

We found a Newfoundland Apple Flip recipe and changed up the filling and added our maple syrup. This version is topped with maple glaze and filled with a filling of delicious maple, spices and apples. recipe below. We definitely will be adding this to our website.
Maple Apple Flips 🍁 Makes 12.
Preheat oven to 350*F
Filling: 6 small apples, cut in small pieces 1 tsp ground cloves. 1 tsp ground nutmeg 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 cup brown sugar 1 tbsp MacRae's maple syrup
Peel apples, cut in small pieces and place in bowl. Add all spices and mix together. Prepare pastry.
Pastry: 2 1/2 cups flour 1 cup butter 1/2 cup white sugar 2 large eggs 1 tsp vanilla 2 tsp baking powder pinch salt 1/4 cup buttermilk(or heavy cream)
Cream together butter & sugar, then add vanilla, egg and buttermilk, continue mixing everything together. Combine flour, baking powder and salt into mixture well.
Roll out and cut ( we used 6 inch square rubbermaid dish) scoop some apple mixture on top and fold over. Pinch edges.
Place on a sheet lined with parchment. Cook 25 - 30 min at 350*F. Drizzle top with maple glaze (recipe in the comments). Serve hot or cold with whipped cream or ice cream or on its own. ... See MoreSee Less
